How the calculation works
Tray width = columns × diameter + (columns − 1) × gap + 2 × border. Depth uses rows.
Before you use the result
Footprint calculation only. Base recesses, wall thickness, manufacturing tolerances and model overhangs need separate allowance.
A worked example
Columns: 5 · Rows: 2 · Base diameter (mm): 25 · Gap between bases (mm): 2 · Outer border per edge (mm): 3.
- Tray width (mm)
- 139
- Tray depth (mm)
- 58
- Base positions
- 10
Results display up to three decimal places. Rounding happens only for display, except where the method explicitly counts whole items.
